Collaborative Law

Sneider Kellman, PC, an accessible team dedicated to your best result.

In Collaborative Law, parties and their attorneys enter into an agreement to work out the issues in a divorce together. Spouses and their lawyers sit down in a room and talk through each matter— child custody, parenting plans, child support, alimony and division of property—and make decisions on how things should be resolved.
If needed, experts can be called in to provide skilled guidance on complex matters. Parties often consult with certified public accountants, financial planners, child psychologists and other experts to make the best possible choices.
There is an incentive to resolve things amicably. If they cannot come to an agreement, the parties promise to end their relationships with their Brookline collaborative divorce attorneys and to hire new trial attorneys who can represent them in Massachusetts family law courts.
Even if you choose not to enter into a formal Collaborative Law agreement (in which your spouse’s attorney would also have to be trained in the process), Attorneys Sneider and Kellman are skilled at working collaboratively with other attorneys if that is what the parties want their process to be and it serves the parties’ interests and needs.
